Community Petition: Reverse Course Cancellations and Faculty Layoffs That Hurt Students at UM-Dearborn

Please sign this public community petition calling on Dean Budikova to reverse the extreme scheduling changes severely affecting students, faculty, and staff:

Faculty, students, and community members are concerned with the layoffs of a number of LEO faculty at the University of Michigan-Dearborn due to drastic changes made to Winter ’25 course offerings after students had already begun to enroll in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters (CASL). These changes were implemented by the Dean, without warning or faculty input and bypassing established faculty governance. These actions adversely affect LEO and tenure track faculty, harm students, and place an unnecessary burden on academic advisors and staff. We demand these inequitable and damaging decisions be reversed immediately.
