Steinbeck Young Authors Writing Coach Registration Form 2019-2020
Welcome future writing coaches! The Steinbeck Young Authors' Day of Writing is an occasion to celebrate young writers. During this day, students also participate in hands-on experiences relating to "The Red Pony" and "The Pearl" at the Center. By participating in this event, students learn good writing skills, how stories connect readers to human experiences, and that community coaches are eager to discuss writing with them. Ultimately, the essays the students complete will be reviewed and awarded by a panel of qualified judges. Your participation is crucial in creating a positive and engaging day for these middle school students.
UPDATES: Volunteer writing coaches are needed for two days: one at the National Steinbeck Center, Monday, March 2nd, 2020, from 10:30 am to 1:45 pm in order to mentor students and help edit their papers. Lunch and parking validation are included. Our second day of Writing will be on Thursday, March 5th, 2020 in Greenfield, CA.
We will also be holding workshops for new writing coaches who wish to learn more about this rewarding experience.
