About: The Jessie Lokrantz Scholarship was developed to encourage and facilitate cultural exchange between Sweden and the United States through academic pursuits in secondary or graduate education. The scholarship provides funding for American students studying at accredited universities in Sweden. The applicant who is awarded the scholarship will receive the full amount of funding in one installment and will be featured on the American Women’s Club (AWC) homepage.
Eligibility: Applicants must be American citizens that are attending an accredited Swedish university in Stockholm, Sweden (e.g., college, university, or graduate school levels). The course of study must be for at least one academic term (e.g., semester). Applicants who identify as female are eligible.
Funding amount: 10,000 SEK paid directly to the successful applicant
Application submission window and deadline: Applications for the 2026-2027 academic year are currently being accepted until July 1, 2026.
Decision date of successful applicant: The successful applicant for the 2026-2027 academic year will be announced on July 15, 2026.
Obligation of successful applicant: Award recipients will receive a free, one-year membership to the AWC and are expected to attend at least one AWC event during the course of the academic term for which the award is granted.
