As a Board Member of Association of Horizon, Inc., I agree to:
-
Attend monthly meetings or notify President or Secretary of absence prior to meeting. Two unexcused absences may result in dismissal. As feasible, I will attend the in-person meetings tentatively scheduled for January, August, and October.
-
Review the prior month’s minutes, read the agenda, and come to the meetings prepared to discuss and vote on current issues, be “present” at each meeting by offering insight to issues, and inform the President of my voting preference prior to the meeting if I cannot attend.
-
Respond to Board and committee email communications in a timely manner.
-
Submit reports for Board agenda/other communications in a timely manner.
-
Actively participate in at least one Programmatic Committee and one Financial Development Committee and support the financial efforts of the organization at large through participation in/attendance at fundraisers and solicitation of donations and sponsorships.
-
Exemplify Horizon’s Mission and Vision.
- Step down from the Board if unable to fulfill these expectations.
Expulsion from the Board: If a Board Member fails to exercise appropriate behavior, he/she will be notified by the President and another Board Member. Three incidents of misconduct will result in dismissal from the Board. Each Board Member is responsible for reporting issues, problems, or incidents to the President. Repeated failure to do so will result in expulsion from the Board.
