CHEETA is a summer youth Leadership skills development program through the Portland Housing Authority. Teens who live in (or have a strong connection to) the Riverton Park, Kennedy Park, or Sagamore Village neighborhoods are eligible to apply for one of our internship positions.
From the end of June through mid-August interns meet to plan and execute events and activities to address challenges in their communities. Interns will also meet with mentors to develop their leadership skills for the future.
The 2023 CHEETA project will run from July 5th until August 18th. CHEETA Youth Leaders will be expected to work 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Three days during the summer will be longer training events with Rippleffect and will be longer days at different locations. Youth leaders may be eligible for stipends after completing 100 hours with CHEETA.
Filling out this form does not guarantee you an internship with CHEETA.
