Ploughshares Community Farm 2020 CSA Sign Up
Join us for a season of fresh, local eating!
Why join our CSA? Enjoy a steady supply of freshly harvested, sustainably grown vegetables all summer long. Get to know your farmer and the land where we grow your food. Benefit from more produce for your dollar than shopping one week at a time. Get introduced to new vegetables and recipe ideas. Support a small local farm caring for the land.
How does it work? CSA (Community Shared Agriculture) members pay up front for a share of the garden harvest as it comes in over the whole season, starting with lots of leafy greens in June, until the winter squash are ready in September, with plenty of variety in between. Your farmers, Amanda and Erica, will work hard to tend the garden all season long, no matter what the weather. CSA members take on some the risk of farming with us. If some crops suffer from factors out of our control, you'll see fewer of those in your box; but if the summer is a particularly good one for other crops, you'll share in that abundance. Each week, we'll share stories from the farm and recipe ideas with you on how to use the vegetables that might be new to you. We are farmers because we are passionate about making fresh, local, sustainably grown produce accessible, and tending to the earth in a way that will allow life on this earth to flourish for generations to come.
Deliveries will begin in mid-June and run until mid-September. Weekly shares will run 15 weeks and biweekly shares will run 7 weeks. Each CSA box will have enough for a household of 2 - 4 people. We will be growing basil, beans, beets, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chard, cilantro, cucumbers, dill, eggplant, fennel, garlic, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, melons, onions, pac choi, parsley, parsnips, patty pans, peas, peppers, popcorn, potatoes, pumpkins, radish, rutabaga, spinach, tomatoes, winter squash, and zucchini (and likely a few others too).
We hope to be able to offer a "Fall Cornocopia" share to extend local eating into the fall season. Look for more information about this option in the summer.
