Oregon Marine Research and Educator Alliance Application (OR SEA)
Thank you for your interest in the Oregon Marine Research and Educator Professional Development opportunity!

DETAILS: Teams of secondary math and science teachers and marine researchers meet August 20 - 22, 2019 at the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) in Newport, Oregon. During this 3-day professional development, teams learn about the latest marine research underway at HMSC and co-develop investigations using questions and data shared by HMSC researchers. Educators then implement these with their students during the 2019 - 2020 academic year.

To support teachers during the academic year, marine researchers and teachers meet in monthly online community of practice sessions (October, November, January, February, and March). Depending on the educator's location, marine researchers visit secondary classrooms in person or virtually. Finally, a evening Capstone Event is held in June 2020 at HMSC to share outcomes.

Participants receive a $1500.00 stipend and reimbursement for all travel, food and lodging.

We hope you can join us! Please complete the online application below by MAY 27, 2019. Notifications will be sent by June 1, 2019.
