Internship with Delegate Delaney's Office
The Office of Delegate Karrie Delaney of the 67th District is looking for interns for the upcoming 2019 General Assembly session in Richmond, VA. This part-time internship is geared toward undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent grads. Interns are expected to work for the entirety of the session (January 9th – February 22nd) in General Assembly building and work a minimum of 20 hours a week.

Interns must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to work independently on all tasks assigned.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Legislative Research
• Bill Tracking
• Producing Policy Briefs
• Note taking and observing committee meetings
• Drafting letters, correspondences, and content for the Delegate’s newsletter
• Data Entry
• Scheduling
• Exciting mass mailings (2,000+ pieces)

Desired Skills:
• Strong work ethic & eagerness to learn
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work effectively in a small team, and as a self-starter
• A general understanding of the General Assembly and the lawmaking process
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, & social media
