Youth Empowerment Program (YEP)
Still time to apply for the 2020 Youth Empowerment Program.
The Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) is for youth (11 -17 years of age) in the Saint Louis area to gain awareness, training, and engagement as community leaders; to recognize the needs and issues of the city and to learn how to address those needs through policy. The skills learned will support and improve the youth's well-being and resiliency.
The schedule for this nine month fellowship program will be one Saturday per month from January 2020 through September 2020. The class will start at 10 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. The dates for the monthly sessions are:
- January 25
- February 22
- March 28
- April 25
- May 30
- June 27
- July 25
- August 22
- September 26
During this program, each youth will complete a leadership plan. Participants will also complete a group project to bring awareness to an issue related to Saint Louis.
Our vision is for the youth to be engaged, realize true potential, and assume leadership roles in their communities for a better Saint Louis for future generations to come.
First priority will be for youth in the following zip codes: 63113, 63115, and 63120. Second priority will be for youth living in the federally designated St. Louis Promise Zone as well as the portions of St. Louis City that are not in the Promise Zone.
