Centering Neurodiversity: Elements of Inclusive Classrooms that Honor Students with Sensory, Movement and Communication Differences - June 7, 2023 Webinar Registration
This presentation will discuss inclusive practices grounded in the neurodiversity paradigm, with a focus on multimodal, augmentative and alternative communication access and sensory-movement supports. We will explore best practices in incorporating communication opportunities that do not rely solely on speaking in grade level curriculum, and the elements of inclusive classrooms that reduce sensory and movement barriers. Participants will identify proactive steps to creating a classroom that moves beyond accommodating to actively centering the diversity that neurodivergent students bring to the classroom.
