There are many ways to help support our Cub Scouts, whether you want to be fully involved, pitch in occasionally, or share your skills when you can. From decorating events to assisting dens, we have a variety of volunteer roles to fit your interests and schedule. Here are descriptions of some of our key volunteer positions—plus a few fun traits to see if you’re a perfect match!
Do these describe you?
I love getting creative and making spaces look festive.
I enjoy crafting and arranging decorations that bring events to life.
I’m the person who still has glitter in places no one should have glitter.
I can turn a roll of streamers into a masterpiece (or a tangled mess, but it’s all part of the charm).
If you answered yes to two or more of these, the Event Decoration Team might be perfect for you! You’ll help design and set up decorations for Cub Scout events, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for the kids and families. This is a job that can be done at home, at night, while streaming your best Netflix show and then brought in and set up. For this one: many hands make light work (even if those hands are covered in puff paint)!
Do these describe you?
I enjoy being around food and helping keep everyone energized.
I like working alongside others in a lively environment.
I’m the unofficial taste-tester and proud owner of a “snack first” philosophy.
I can juggle plates, napkins, and a soda without spilling (most of the time).
If that sounds like you, consider joining the Event Food Team! This team supports Cub Scout events by managing food preparation, serving, and clean-up. It’s a great way to connect with other parents while supporting the group. Admittedly, sometimes chaotic, but when you are working with good people, there is a lot to laugh about. There are so many different positions on the food team- shoppers, preppers, cooks, servers, and the guy who makes sure that scouts eat more than a plate of ketchup! You can experiment as to where you fit best.
Do these describe you?I like organizing and packing efficiently.
I enjoy preparing gear and making sure everything is ready for adventures.
I have a degree in Tetris from fitting gear into tight spaces.
I can find a lost flashlight in a pile of camping gear faster than you can say “Where’s the tent?”
If this fits, the Camping Trailer Packing Team is a great match. You’ll help pack and organize camping gear and supplies to ensure everything the Scouts need is ready for camping trips- all of which takes place BEFORE the actual trip so you are free to sit back and enjoy the trip while you’re there.
Do these describe you?
I enjoy working directly with kids and helping them learn.
I speak fluent skibidy toilet, am sigma, & I am not Ohio.
I like supporting small groups and assisting leaders.
I can survive a sugar-fueled game of tag without needing a nap.
If you said yes to these, Den Assisting could be your spot! You’ll help den leaders with activities, support the Scouts, and contribute to a positive, fun environment. You are in the mix of the action and see every minute of advancement.
Do these describe you?
I like hands-on work and staying active.
I’m happy to help as long as it is quick and efficient.
I have a secret superpower for finding the end of the tape roll on the first try.
I consider “Where do all these chairs come from?” a daily mystery worth solving.
I like to look like a body builder without having to actually work out.
If this sounds like you, join the Setup/Breakdown Crew! This team handles the physical preparation and cleanup of event spaces, making sure everything runs smoothly before and after activities. If you don’t want to miss a minute of Pack activities- this might be a good spot for you. In this role, you make sure the kids are hydrated, the seats are in place and help put everything back when it's over. Slower pace with time to socialize and watch the chaos.
Whatever you enjoy doing, we will find a spot that you will enjoy! We look forward to getting to know you better, please feel free to reach out to any of our returning parents with questions.
