Stories from tenants about harassment
Over the years, we have heard many cases of tenants harassed by their landlords. However we expect this to get much worse. As Portland and Oregon adopt better tenant protections that prevent landlords from using no-cause evictions and limit rent increases, landlords are likely to turn to harassment to push tenants out, as has happened in many other places. This is even more likely with the emergency measures put into place to provide housing during the coronavirus pandemic.
That is why PTU is promoting an ordinance that would protect tenants from landlord harassment. To convince lawmakers, we need to share your stories of landlord harassment that you have experienced.
