The Alicia Jo Pippin Award
The Alicia Jo Pippin Distinguished Student Award is given each year by KGTC to one student in Kansas who has shown outstanding accomplishment in any ONE or MORE of the following areas of endeavor:
* visual or performing arts
* leadership
* civic-minded achievement
* 2E-Twice exceptional overcoming great challenge

The award consists of a Certificate of Excellence and a $500 award. The award is established by Alicia’s parents to honor her memory and her struggle to deal with being Twice Exceptional (2E).
Students may nominate themselves or be nominated by parents, teachers, students or community/civic groups. The winner will be selected the first week of June and is expected to attend the KGTC annual conference in the fall to receive the award publicly.

At least one letter of recommendation from someone other than a nominee’s family member, explaining why the student nominee is deserving of the award, what sets him or her apart from other students, and how the nominee is impacting others.

Student composition describing the activity or interest area for which the student is being nominated, how the student became interested/involved in the activity, what impact the activity has had on the student and on others, or how the student’s future plans and goals have been affected by this activity or interest area.
