The Alliance works to advance research, education, and policy centered around the concept of planetary health, or "the health of human civilization and the state of the natural systems on which it depends" (as defined by the Rockefeller Foundation). We envision a global public better educated about the connections between human health and our management of Earth’s natural systems, as well as policy makers better positioned to proactively calculate the public health costs or benefits of their resource management decisions.
Institutional membership in the Alliance is open to all 501(c)3 non-profit organizations, government agencies, academic institutions and inter-governmental bodies whose mission relates to environment and health, that supports the mission and values of the Alliance, and that seeks to engage in planetary health research, education, and/or policy translation. Membership is not binding and does not require any financial commitments.
The Alliance and its members are committed to understanding and communicating the human health impacts of global environmental change, emphasizing that human disruption of Earth’s natural systems represents an urgent threat to global human health. Our work is driven by a sense of urgency to create a new trajectory for human stewardship of our planet.
Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to connecting with you soon.
