Attendance Students who attend school regularly and arrive to class on time enhance their learning experience and develop a stronger sense of responsibility. We need to make students aware, as early as possible, of the value of being punctual.Absence If you know that your child will be out for 3 consecutive days, ask for homework; it will take 24 hours to collect it from all the teachers. PER DISTRICT POLICY, if your child is absent 5 consecutive days, they will be inactivated. Parent will have to go to the district Centralized Registration Center to re-enroll their child when they return. Always send a note or leave a voice mail message in the attendance office. Inform the school of address or phone number changes.
When you pick up your student: Always bring photo identification. Student will not be released to you if you do not have proper identification. We cannot release your child to anyone if the person is not listed in the school emergency contacts in Aeries, unless written authorization from the Parent/Guardian is provided.
It is important that students who have been absence bring a note, signed by a parent or guardian, excusing their absence.
Students should never come to school late. However, in the event of an emergency, students arriving on campus after 8:00 a.m. MUST report immediately to the attendance office before going to class.
Students should also be picked up from school on time. Val Verde Unified School District requires parents to pick up their children no later than 15 minutes after the end of their instructional day. Administration respectfully requests that you pick up your child not later than 15 minutes after the end of your Childs instructional day.
