Student parents who are Pell grant eligible or would be eligible using Pell grant income guidelines (at or below the federal poverty level) are invited to apply to participate in the CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School) Program. The program offers subsidized slots for full and part time care at the Early Childhood Laboratory, child development and whole family support, and student success mentoring through the Transfer and Reentry Center.
2025-2026: The UC Davis CCAMPIS grant from the US Department of Education is up for renewal for 2025-2026.
While we plan to reapply, funding is not
guaranteed. Should we receive funding, it will be prioritized for
continuing to subsidize tuition for eligible student parent scholars and offering mentorship support. If we
do not receive funding, student parents are still eligible for spots at
the Early Childhood Lab School (ECLS), though no subsidies will be
available. We encourage students to secure additional sources of
funding (
UC Davis Child Care Grants,
CalWORKs,
Children's Home Society,
Alternative Budget Request through Financial Aid,
etc.) to cover the cost of ECLS tuition.
For students with children who will be three years old by 9/1/25, they are eligible to attend
Transitional Kindergarten at Davis Joint Unified School District or at another school district closer to home.
We are hoping to be able to
continue offering mentorship and wraparound support regardless of the
grant renewal. We anticipate finding out about the status of our
renewal in September.
