Help us reach all veterans in Brown County.
The newly proposed Aberdeen Area Veterans Memorial Center joint-use facility is being planned by a new group representing the VFW, American Legion, 40 and 8, DAV and the Marine Corps League. This new group is incorporated as Aberdeen Area Veterans Inc. and will manage and maintain this new veterans center. It is one of the first in the country to provide common ground for so many veterans and veteran organizations.
Here is an artist rendering of the new facility.
This new center will be a hub of activity and services for veterans of Brown County and the region. The military continues to produce more and more vets every year. In Aberdeen, there is no place for vets to call their own. Unfortunately we see veterans passing away each day. This building is an excellent way to honor and memorialize those individuals. Financial gifts of all kinds can be used for naming opportunities. These include gifts of land, cash, securities, IRA Required Minimum Distributions for those 70 1/2 and older, appreciated securities and other assets readily converted to cash. But in order to honor those, we need to know how to reach their families. We also want to reach all living, active veterans to let them know what is being planned for them with this facility. If you are a veteran or know of others, please provide your contact information and those of others below. Thank you! You may also send names to us at AAVI, P.O. Box 2141, Aberdeen, SD 57402.
