Rhizome DC invites local filmmakers to submit short moving picture works in any genre and format for a screening in September 2024.
Experimental subjects and works shot on film are encouraged to submit. We’re currently working to provide a film projector so that the selected filmmakers who have 16 mm and Super 8 prints will have the special opportunity to screen their work before an audience.
The deadline to submit is August 15. Filmmakers will be contacted by September 1 and the selected films will be screened on September 27.
The Fall 2024 Film & Video Open Call aspires to promote a spirit of investigation, stewardship, and community among DC-area filmmakers and moving picture artists. Questions and concerns can be addressed to
