Join us for a hands on workshop exploring, a STEM and computation in astronomy resource designed to enable the use of real data from the Sloan Digital Sky Surveys in the classroom.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about how the SDSS captures thousands of spectra at a time to answer questions related to the scale and structure of the universe and the evolution of stars in our own galaxy. Each participant will receive a spectroscopic plug plate and a poster of the corresponding to the area of the sky to accompany the online lessons related to Sloan Data.

This workshop and materials are designed for high school level classrooms.

>Introduction to the Voyages website
>Matching Content to the NGSS
>Anatomy of a Spectroscopic Plate
