Unspoken Voices is excited to announce its next project: Fragmentary: A Mosaic Project
Unspoken Voices will be providing plates of different varieties for people to write on and decorate explaining what or who they feel “broke” them. The chance to write down the causes for their scars. The decorators will then have the chance to smash and brake what broke them. After the plates are broken, it’s time to make them into something beautiful and new. The pieces will be added to a communal mosaic that we will showcase at different events.
Our first event will take place October 6th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Father Hennepin Park in Minneapolis. This event will coincide with the 2018 Slutwalk. What is SlutWalk?
The SlutWalk is an event to show how rape culture and victim shaming is not acceptable. We need to change society and the way we teach people about rape and preventing rape. There will be a march to demonstrate the need for change.
Join Unspoken Voices for our healing event and join us as we support SlutWalk 2018! For more event details, check out our event page on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/320397452038728/
If you cannot make it to the event, but still want to participate, we invite you to fill out this google form. We will take pictures of the plate, with the words of your choosing on it, as well as pictures of the plate once it has been broken and then pieced together as part of the mosaic. We can email you the pictures, if you wish.
