Rapid urbanisation and climate change: Developing sustainable and resilient water and sanitation infrastructure in Africa
The TICAD VI Nairobi Declaration recognises the critical need to develop sustainable urban infrastructure in Africa, including water and sanitation. This networking event, co-hosted by JICA, Pan African Climate Justice Alliance and WaterAid, will highlight the challenges facing Africa from rapid urbanisation and climate change, and the steps needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Goal 6. The panel brings together Ministers and senior representatives from African governments, JICA, the African Development Bank, CSOs and the private sector to share their approaches and solutions to delivering sustainable urban water and sanitation infrastructure and services for all.
