JOURNEY follows the incredible true story of Arnel Pineda, the Filipino singer who went from performing in Manila nightclubs to becoming the lead vocalist of the iconic rock band Journey. After years of poverty, family tragedy, and chasing an impossible dream, Arnel is discovered on YouTube, and catapulted from obscurity onto the world’s biggest stages where he must overcome fierce skepticism. JOURNEY is a sweeping drama about ambition, family, sacrifice, and the courage to bet on yourself when the whole world is watching.
SEEKING:
ARNEL - Character is male, early 40s, Filipino, fluent in English and able to speak fluent/conversational Tagalog. Energetic and youthful, Arnel captivates everyone with his passionate and intense vocals. Music is his lifeblood, and he sings constantly, no matter what he is doing. Despite the many hardships he's faced in life, Arnel is still a big dreamer with a playful spirit that is especially evident when he's with his newborn son. When Arnel finally has a shot at living out his dream in the most unexpected way, he struggles with being thrust into the sudden spotlight. Must be a strong singer.
YOUNG ARNEL - Character is male, able to portray 13-15, Filipino, fluent in English and able to speak fluent/conversational Tagalog. Life has not been kind to him, yet his youthful and hopeful energy shines brightly. As the eldest son in a large impoverished family, Young Arnel has grown up quickly, bearing the weight of his duties with a great resilient spirit. When he sings, all of his troubles go away and his essence of being a gifted, playful, charming teenager comes through. Must be a strong singer.

Please record the following (you may submit these as 2 separate files):
1) In your full body slate, please give your name, location, height, and pronouns.
2) Please use a reader for sides.
3) Please use the karaoke tracks when taping the songs.
4) If you are using a cell phone/tablet to videotape scenes and songs, please be sure to film horizontally and in a well-lit space (not backlit).
5) Please do not feel obligated to get a certain backdrop, professional lighting, sound, or camera equipment etc. As long as we can hear and see you clearly in your tape, we will consider you.
Once you have taped, fill out this google form, providing a downloadable/viewable link with your audition videos and a picture/resume.
If you are using a cell phone to video record, please be sure to film horizontally and in a well-lit space (not backlit). Please provide a viewable/downloadable link in the appropriate box below. We are not able to download files (i.e. WeTransfer, Hightail). Dropbox and GoogleDrive tend to work best (and REMINDER TO MAKE THE SETTINGS ACCESSIBLE TO ANYONE WITH THE LINK -- we are not able to request access!). Reminder that YouTube links are not downloadable, so best to avoid YouTube.
