Webinar: Integrated Computing and Mathematics
With the upcoming legislation soon to take effect, districts across Oklahoma are looking for ways to give kids a foundation in computer science while still supporting their success in core subjects! With support for the National Science Foundation, Bootstrap and OKSDE have partnered to explore a solution that integrates computing *into the math classes our students already take*, using a novel, algebraic approach to programming.

This approach allows students teachers with no computing background to leverage their existing math experience, requiring less training or start-up time than conventional computer science. And in addition to teaching introductory programming, this approach has also been shown to improve student performance in standard, pencil-and-paper algebra tasks! (see http://cs.brown.edu/~sk/Publications/Papers/Published/sfk-bsa-scaff-unscaff-wp/paper.pdf)

Join us to learn about this approach, hear from OK teachers who've piloted the program, and discover how it can work for teachers and students in your district!
