With the upcoming legislation soon to take effect, districts across Oklahoma are looking for ways to give kids a foundation in computer science while still supporting their success in core subjects! With support for the National Science Foundation, Bootstrap and OKSDE have partnered to explore a solution that integrates computing *into the math classes our students already take*, using a novel, algebraic approach to programming.
This approach allows students teachers with no computing background to leverage their existing math experience, requiring less training or start-up time than conventional computer science. And in addition to teaching introductory programming, this approach has also been shown to improve student performance in standard, pencil-and-paper algebra tasks! (see

Join us to learn about this approach, hear from OK teachers who've piloted the program, and discover how it can work for teachers and students in your district!
