DACC High School Placement


Hello future DACC Student!

Please fill out the following form to register for DACC's placement test. DACC uses ALEKS for the math placement and Accuplacer reading and Writeplacer for the English placement. The placement test is to help determine your level of skill in one or more academic areas. The scores you receive will be used to assist in determining the most appropriate courses based on your demonstrated skills. This is not a pass/fail test and is only meant to help you become best prepared for future college level courses.

Placement test scores can be used for enrollment in Dual Enrollment, College Express, Middle College, and Project Lead the Way. Accuplacer (Reading and Writing) scores are valid for 3 years. ALEKS (Math) scores are valid for 1 year.

If you feel the scores you received do not indicate your skill level, you are allowed to retest. The math placement provides a diagnostic, as well as an opportunity to utilize Prep and Learning Modules. Once you have completed 3 hours within those modules, a second opportunity for testing will become available. The English placement can be retaken for a $15 test fee, 48 hours after the initial session.

Registration requests are reviewed by staff to ensure that appropriate information is on file (i.e. Student Information Form https://dacc.edu/application-new-student-form ). If additional information is needed, students will be contacted to complete appropriate forms. Once requests have been reviewed and approved, students will receive a confirmation email that will include the date, time, and location for testing.

Students will not be admitted to test without a photo ID.

 I understand that this is a request to take the DACC placement test. Approval of being granted to test will come from the Testing Center staff after a review to ensure that all necessary information is on file. Once reviewed, I acknowledge that the Testing Center will contact me via phone or email that I’ve been approved to test for the selected date of my choice. If more information is needed, the Testing Center will contact me via phone or email to inform me what information is needed and the deadline to submit it. Only students who have been approved by Testing Center staff will be tested. There will be no exceptions. *
