Join us for a conversation with Es Devlin, the 2025 Eugene McDermott Award in the Arts at MIT recipient, and participants of the MIT Face to Face drawing sessions.
Inspired by Devlin’s artwork Congregation, more than 100 members of the MIT Community—students, faculty, and staff—came together to draw one another. Paired with individuals they did not previously know, the participants used drawing as a means of close observation and a pathway to creating human connections.
Set within the Face to Face pop-up exhibition—designed by Sloan Aulgur, with lighting design by Perry Naseck and faculty guidance from Sara Brown and Ana Miljacki—this conversation between Es Devlin and the participants offers a chance to reflect on stillness, presence, and the power of looking closely.
We hope you’ll join us for this special moment of exchange. A reception will follow the conversation. Register to secure your spot.
