Thank you for volunteering to help lead our CyberClub. Our chat room is dedicated to helping kids get to know Jesus personally, and your prayers, participation, patience and personal interest mean a lot. Please answer the questions below. This is not information that is to be shared in the chat room. This, however is how you may be contacted with messages for the team and how you will be able to log on to the web site at guidecyberclub.org and have access to material posted for team members only.

Where You Live *

For the junior moderator designation you do not need to give your full address. It is sufficient to give the city or even one that is close by but in the same general area and time zone.

How do you prefer to be addressed in the chat room?

Most times is it nice to be called by our first name. Sometimes last names (family names) are used, but in the chat room we do not do that for safety reasons. If you have a preference to be addressed by you username rather than your first name, you may indicate that here.

What is Expected of a Chat Launch Team Officer

These rules are similar to the Guide CyberClub Chat Room Rules.
As a CLT Officer, it is important that you follow the rules. Also, there are a few additional items we expect from our team members.

1. I agree to keep personal information confidential. This means that information such as my last name, email, phone, city, school or church. Even if I do not know how this may cause problems for safety, I will abide by this rule at all times in the chat room. I will not ask others in the chat room to reveal any such information, and should it seem that someone is overlooking this rule, I may give a reminder that personal information is not to be shared for safety reasons; but in any case, I will not encourage anyone to continue sharing such personal information. I understand that I may tell my first name, state/country, age, grade in school and I will feel free to do so and to ask other participants about such information. I will keep in mind that no chat member is required to give even this allowed information and will not encourage them to share any information that they feel should not be revealed in the chat room.

2. I agree not to post any web addresses, email addresses, or usernames for other web sites. If there is a web site I feel should be shared with others in the chat room, I will let the moderator on duty know the details and will leave it up to him/her whether to post it for all participants to see.

3. I agree to be kind and respectful in my conversations. The Guide chat room is a place to find positive, encouraging friends. Every participant should find the activity enjoyable. I plan to have fun in the chat room, and will help others to do so also.

4. I agree not to use profanity or obscenity. Also I will avoid emoticons that present a message contrary to Bible principles or the intended purpose of Guide (help young people get to know Jesus), even if they are not filtered by the software.

5. I will not be obnoxious in the way I chat. For example, I will not flood the chat by typing the same thing again and again ... or cutting and pasting long sections of text ... or posting messages that are not readable by others in the chat room.

6. In the case where there is a planned activity, I will participate, rather than disrupt by random distracting comments.

7. I will remember that this chat room is dedicated to Jesus. Most chats take place during Sabbath hours. Even if it is before sunset on Friday where you live or after sunset closing the Sabbath. Sabbath is a great day to think about God and His Word, enjoy nature, build good relationships with friends and family, serve others, share our faith, and take a break from school and other everyday activities. I will focus my conversation on topics that fit with the purpose of Sabbath.

8. I will be respectful and appreciative of the adult moderators who have volunteered to supervise the chat sessions. If I need to be reminded of a chat room rule, I will accept and appreciate the reminder. I am aware that if I continue to disregard Guide CyberClub rules, I will be excluded for a time from participating as a CLT Officer, even if I am not banned from participation in the chat room. As a CLT Officer, I understand that I need to be an example to other club members in following the rules.

9. I will pay attention to the chat schedule and when there is a potential chat session that I am able to participate in, I will commit if possible, to being on to participate, and indicate that using the form provided. If I am not sure, I will not commit; but may be present and participate anyway. The difference my commitment makes is to help determine if there are enough participants to open a particular session.

10. For any chat session for which I commit to participation, I will be online. It is understood that sometimes unexpected issues come up or the internet connection may have problems. Other than in the case of unavoidable complications, when I commit, I WILL be there. I understand that if I repeatedly commit and fail to be present, I will be discontinued from participation as a CLT Officer for a time.
