Joining our team is an opportunity to be involved with an organization that already has a strong track record of awesome events, and is aiming to grow significantly this year in terms of both attendance and impact on the community.
While it is a lot of work, we believe it’s incredibly fulfilling, both personally and professionally. The proof? We’re all volunteers who dedicate our time and energy year after year, with enthusiasm, passion and dedication. We are a close-knit team and do this work because we believe in it.
This is an unpaid position, in fact nobody in our organization is paid. Your efforts are rewarded by opportunities to push your boundaries, be connected to the worldwide TED community and reach out to incredible people in Salem, and you won’t be alone, you have the support of your teammates and the benefit of our existing connections.
We currently have four openings in three positions.
Volunteer Coordinator:Coordinates day of volunteers. Works closely with ticket coordinator and needs to know who speakers and partners are. (Time Commitment: A few hours 1-2 weeks prior to event plus entire day-of event)
Partnership Maven:Responsible for raising money from partners/sponsors for event expenses. Should be someone who has experience with fundraising and development since this is one of the most important components of the event planning process. (Time Commitment: 4-6 hours per month year round)
Social Media Volunteer:Posts on various social media platforms according to social media plan. (2 needed) (Time Commitment: 2-5 hours/week year round)
