We believe that Parents and Supporters are an integral part of student success at UC Berkeley. Parent and Supporters Orientation is the best introduction to UC Berkeley for parents and supporters of incoming undergraduate students. At the Parent and Supporters Orientation, you begin to navigate the new campus and its resources, meet fellow supporters, and learn about important UC Berkeley requirements, traditions, and culture — and understand the critical role they can play in your student’s college career. Our Parent and Supporter Orientation addresses issues and concerns directly related to the support systems of incoming students.
While your student will be attending Golden Bear Orientation August 15-22, New Student Services will offer four optional and free sessions of Parent and Supporters Orientation on August 13-14. All parents and supporters are welcome to attend the Parent and Supporters Orientation even if your student is not living in University Residential Halls. For those with students living in University Residential Halls, please select a session that does not conflict with your student's Move-In time-slot.
For Parents/Supporters attending Special Population Orientations on August 13: August 13 3:00 - 6:00pm
All other Parents/Supporters: August 14 9:00am - 12:00pm August 14 12:00 - 3:00pm August 14 3:00 - 6:00pm
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR PARENTS/SUPPORTERS WITH STUDENTS MOVING INTO UNIVERSITY RESIDENTIAL HALLS:Please select a session that complements your Move-In time slot. For example, if your student has a 8:00am Move-In time-slot, select the 12:00 - 3:00pm Parent and Supporters Orientation session.
