Squash was voted the healthiest sport in the world by Forbes magazine. It builds strength, fitness and can burn up to 800 calories in an hour (which is why Grove Park's bar is so important to our club!!)
We thing we love most about our club is that it is a vibrant, active and friendly place to get fit, have fun and meet new friends. We also understand that Squash can be a difficult sport to either start out in or indeed get back into. We have therefore decided to run "Get (Back) Into Squash #GBIS" sessions.
#GBIS will start in the New Year (an ideal time to start a new sport or fitness regime) on Sunday 7th January with a 3 hour "taster"session from 10am until 1pm. This 3 hour session will give you everything you need to know about the sport, introduction to the basics and generally give you a chance to play squash. We will provide all the equipment and the sessions will be taken by our Head Coach - Jules Abbas (England Level 2 coach).
The session is open to everybody from those who have played squash before but lost with the sport through to complete beginners.
We will then be holding weekly training sessions for the "Get (Back) Into Squash (#GBIS)" group on a Friday evening from 5:30pm to 6:30pm (£4 per session). These are open to everyone - including if you can't make it down to the taster sessions.
If you would like to attend, please complete details. If you would like to find out more about what is happening at Grove Park Squash Club, please either go to our website (www.groveparksquash.org.uk) or pop down on a Monday night when we have our Social Club Night sometime between 6pm and 8pm and we will be more than happy to show you round.
