Boonedoggle 12-Hour Contra Dance Event (9/28/19)

4th annual Boonedoggle is a 12-hour contra dance hosted at the Appalachian Folk School in northeastern TN.

BANDS: Playing with Fyre / Elftones
CALLERS: Jesse Edgerton / Terry Doyle

DANCES:
$20 - entire event
$8 - per dance session

LODGING
Camping - $5 per night per person
Bunkhouse - $10 per night per person
Private Cabins - contact Warren or Terry for pricing

Catered Supper on Saturday - $6 (spaghetti w/meat and meatless sauce) - please check below if you would like this.

FRIDAY (SEPTEMBER 27TH) (all Friday events are FREE)
4:00 PM – Registration Opens at Folk School
8:00 – 9:30 PM - Beginner Workshop/lesson w/Warren (experienced dancers welcome)
9:45 – 11:00 PM – Contra Dance to recorded music
11:00 PM – Post-dance Activities (campfire, games, hanging out)

SATURDAY (SEPTEMBER 28TH)
9:00 – 10:00 AM – Walt Workshop w/Warren
9:00 - 10:00 AM - Flatfooting Workshop w/Terry
10:00 – 10:45 AM – Waltz with live music (George Paul)
11:00 – 1:30 PM – Contra dance: Playing with Fyre w/Terry Doyle
2:00 – 4:30 PM – Contra dance: Elftones with Jesse Edgerton
4:30 – 5:30 PM – Catered Supper ($6 - Must register in advance)
5:30 – 8:00 PM – Contra dance: Playing with Fyre w/Jesse Edgerton
8:30 – 11:00 PM – Contra dance: Elftones w/Terry Doyle
11:00 PM – Post-dance Activities (campfire, games, hanging out)

SUNDAY (SEPTEMBER 29TH)
10:00 AM – Excursions (swimming holes; Watauga Lake; Whitetop Mountain (beautiful bald), VA Creeper Trail (biking); Grayson Highlands SP (semi-wild horses); Backbone Rock/AT (hiking)
