When is the Trip? June 29-July 7

Where is the Trip? We will be going to the Yakama Reservation in Washington State. Our host is Sacred Road Ministries. We will be staying at Hope Fellowship Church in bunk-rooms and teepees (Location: 14531 Pumphouse Rd, White Swan, WA 98952 . Our specific travel arraignments are yet to be determined however we will be flying a commercial airline to Seattle and driving up to the Yakama Reservation.

History of Sacred Road Ministries - Chris, Mary, Ann Marie, Beth, Morgan and David Granberry moved to the Yakama reservation in June 2003 with the desire to love and serve "our first neighbors" well. Ordained by the Pacific Northwest Presbytery in June 2008, Chris serves as Team Leader and Pastor for the team and church plant. Mary oversees food prep for Hope Fellowship Church and short term teams as well as hospitality and mercy ministries. Sacred Road Ministries was founded in 2005 by the Granberry's and has been receiving short term groups for over ten years

What Will We Do There? We will be immersed in the First Nation Culture as we are staying at a church located in the Yakama Reservation. We will do a lot of mercy ministry: roofing, painting, hauling trash, home repair on the reservation
We will also participate in hosting Vacation Bible School and maybe sports or activities.

Who Can Go?: The Encounter Yakama Mission Trip is open to all current 8th - 12th graders, Due to the nature of the trip, space may be limited. Current 9th - 12th graders will have first priority over current 8th graders. 8th graders are encouraged to fill out the applications and provide a deposit to hold their potential spot.

Will there be Fundraising?: We will raise money together through a variety of fundraising and we hope that money would not be an issue for any student, if it becomes an issue there are scholarships available please talk to Andrew (see below). You must participate in at least 2 small fundraiser work projects. If you do not participate in at least 2 you will forfeit $50 in LPC scholarship funds that has already earmarked for you on this trip.

Mission Trip Meetings
Pre-trip meetings: We will meet together a number of times between now and the trip to prepare the students to work and live together in a cross-cultural environment. Students MUST commit to these dates; any conflicts should be mentioned on the previous page and will be considered when reviewing the student’s application. You must participate in 4 of the 5 meetings if you miss more than 1 meeting you will forfeit $50 in LPC Scholarship funds that has already earmarked for you on this trip.

Withdrawal or Removal from team:
If you need to withdrawal from the trip you will be responsible for the remaining balance of your airfare ticket.
If there is someone on the waiting list who desires to take your spot you will be responsible for the airline ticket
name transfer fee. Withdrawal must occur before the purchase of the airfare. If you need to withdraw after the date you are responsible for the remainder of the non-refunded airfare ticket.

The adult leadership team, at their discretion, has the right to remove any student from the team at any time. Reasons for removal include but are not limited to: inappropriate behavior; missing meetings; a rebellious spirit; and so on. If this action takes place after the purchase of the tickets you are still responsible for the non refunded cost of the trip.

Friday, May 3: 3:30 - 7 pm - LPC Spring Rummage Sale Set-Up & Pick-Up
Saturday, May 4: 1 - 5 pm - LPC Spring Rummage Sale Clean-Up
June 2 - Breakfast for Students

Financial Dates:
Total Cost $750
January 13 - $100 Deposit Due (Refundable until Feb 10)
February 10 - $250 (Non-Refundable)
April 14 - $200 (Non-Refundable)
Sunday, June 23 - Remaining Trip Payment Due
(If you did no fundraising... the final amount would be $200)
