WEBINAR SERIES: Business & Human Rights after COVID-19

The USP Business & Human Rights Working Group brings together human rights professionals and academic researchers who have an interest in continuously developing the field of business and human rights (B&HR), corporate responsibility, and accountability.

The platform engages scholars and young researchers from the University of São Paulo (Ribeirão Preto Law School and Latin American Studies) to inspire academic research and strategic actions. Highly focused on strategies to overcome the COVID-19 crisis, the initiative aims to provide a space where students, professionals, civil society, and private sector representatives can learn more about the field and explore new insights to foster the BHR agenda.

We have hosted our first webinar with Prof. David Bilchitz on 1st June 2021, opening up a series of debates regarding the relationship between business misconduct and human rights, as well as its manifestations in the COVID-19 crisis scenario and in light of current BHR challenges.

The series will be held until August 2021, with webinars being hosted weekly. Seminars are usually held in English but may also be held in Portuguese or Spanish.
