OMES PTO EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTIONS 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

The PTO provides a lot of fun events for students and families as well as support and resources to teachers and staff at Old Mill. During the most recent school year, the PTO has hosted many family events such as the Fall Festival, Movie Night, Skate Nights, Donuts with Grownups, and the Spring Carnival. We’ve provided snacks, breakfasts, and lunches to OM teachers and staff each month and have purchased many needed supplies for the classrooms, just to name a few. We would love to continue this support for Old Mill but we can’t do it without the help of our PTO volunteers.

Ready to jump in? We are now planning elections for our OMES PTO Executive Board for the 2024-2025 school year. Serving on the PTO Board provides a great opportunity for our Old Mill family to serve our school and community. You will build friendships with other parents, teachers and help to plan Old Mill events. We have a great time while working hard to raise funds and create opportunities for our school.

How much time does it take? Our PTO year runs from July to June so your role would begin July 1st.  Our PTO Meetings occur monthly, usually on a Monday at 4 pm. We might have a few extra meetings throughout the year if we have a big event coming up or a need that must be addressed. We also expect our board members to be available to help organize and serve at events. Not all members are expected to attend all events, we all pitch in and help when needed depending on our other commitments. We use the BAND app to conduct business as well. All officers are asked to serve two years in their role.

Who can serve? Any parent/guardian of a student who will attend OMES for the 2024-2025 school year has completed both required background checks. Employees of Bullitt County School District (substitute teacher, teacher, office aide, etc.) need to check Red Book policies as some officer positions may not be held by district employees.

What do I do next? Review the open positions and their responsibilities and use the form to apply for the position(s) you would consider serving in. We encourage you to list more than one position if you’re flexible in the role you’re seeking.

Submit by May 12, 2024. Elections will be held on May 13th and nominees will be contacted after the meeting.
