On September 20th, 2019, young people and adult allies around the world will join together and strike for the climate. Following the lead and vision of Greta Thunberg, a climate activist from Sweden, strikers will call on their governments to take action on the climate crisis.

On March 15th and May 24th, students gathered in Rhode Island at the statehouse demanding climate action. Youth will strike again September 20th and this time will be joined by adult allies and other climate organizations.

If you are a Gen Z or Millennial & available on Sept 7th & 8th, we encourage you to attend the Sunrise Northeast Regional Summit in Providence (exact location TBA). The summit will be an opportunity to meet other young people from around the region who are passionate about solving the climate crisis and build community across the movement. Attendees will be trained in Sunrise’s DNA as well as attend specialized breakout trainings on communications strategy, action planning, fundraising, building partnerships, and other core skills to build out powerful hubs.
