Aligning an Open-Source Ethos: Questionnaire

Welcome!

Thank you for participating in this project! Aligning an Open-Source Ethos is a research and creative project designed to develop both a definition of values and practices that govern an “open-source ethos”, and models for ethical alignment among a range of open-source creative tech communities. The project is led by artist and researcher Roopa Vasudevan, and is supported by the 2024 Processing Foundation Fellowship.

This questionnaire will take approximately 30 minutes to complete (if you are signed in to your Google account, you can save your responses and return later). It is designed to collect responses surrounding participation in open-source creative technology projects and communities; inclusion and conflict in these spaces; and core values that you believe should be upheld by open-source projects. The initial results will be compiled into a Web-based and print project to be released in fall 2024, and the project will continue into the future.

At the end of the questionnaire, you will be asked if you would like to participate in an interview to discuss your responses in more depth. Interviews will take between 45 minutes to an hour and will be conducted over Zoom at your convenience. Interview participants will be compensated for their time.

The following page contains more information about the project. You will be required to read it through and agree to participate before continuing on.
