Read Write Discover Tutor Application Summer 2018 - Seven Trees Branch Library
Read Write Discover is a program that matches high school students with youth in grades first through eighth in an effort to help improve their literacy skills and to build confidence in their reading and writing skills. This program fosters a culture of community engagement for the members involved and the community at large. At Seven Trees Branch Library, this program will take place on Saturdays from June 30 to August 4. This year, we will be having one session from 1:30pm-3:00pm.

Through trainings and other development opportunities, volunteers are provided with the tools to become effective tutors, with teaching skills and the ability to work with youth. We deeply appreciate the work that our tutors put into the program and say “thank you” by offering benefits and opportunities such as volunteer hours! As a tutor, you will prepare your own lesson plan, work with the same group of students each week, and be committed to the program. If you will be missing more than 2 weeks, you can still sign up to be a substitute! All tutors and substitutes must attend mandatory training, which will be held at the Milpitas Library in June.

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY, MAY 23rd, 2018 at 11:59PM. Please don't hesitate to email seventrees@readwritediscover.org with questions or for more information. Good luck!
