Caption Telephone Services Canada
Yes, I want to see the establishment of Captioned Telephone Services in Canada, that will enable people with hearing loss to be able to fully use the telephone without barriers.

Captioned Telephone service is ideal for people with some degree of hearing loss, it works like any other telephone with one important addition: It displays every word the caller says throughout the conversation. Captioned Telephone users can listen to the caller, and can also read the written captions on the phone's display window. This service is currently available in the United States, however, Canada has yet to implement such service.

Captioned Telephone service works like this: you dial the other person's number, exactly the same way as with any other telephone; while you dial, the phone automatically connects to the captioning service. When the other party answers, you hear everything they say, just like a traditional call. At the same time, the captioning service transcribes everything they say into captions, which appear on the phone display. You hear what you can, and read what you need to.

Please sign this petition to show your support of this service being implemented in Canada and to enable the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association to advocate for this service on behalf of all Canadians living with hearing loss!

Thank you!
