Intro

Patrons must follow the direction of Sun Gallery staff at all times while in the Makerspace or using Makerspace equipment.

Why? We may have access to info you don’t about materials, machines, the environment, or other things going on in the building.

Patrons must complete general safety training for the lab space and specific training for each machine.

Why? The Makerspace has powerful equipment.  The risk of misuse includes fire, crushing injuries, electrical damage and more.  Stay informed to stay safe.

Patrons must wear close toed shoes within the Makerspace.  Hair should be tied back and not dangling.  Avoid loose fitting clothing or accessories such as ties or long necklaces around machines with moving parts.

Why? Loose and dangling items can get caught in machinery leading to injury.

Headphones and earbuds are not permitted in the Makerspace; it is important that you be able to hear machine malfunction, alarms, or safety instructions.

Why? If you cannot hear alarms, malfunctions, or safety instructions, you may be injured in a preventable emergency.

Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to Makerspace staff immediately.

Why? Safety is everybody's responsibility! You can save yourself and others from injury.
