Give a Thread Kickoff Event Volunteer Form

The Student Office of Sustainability and The Office of PittServes are working on a clothing collection event called Give a Thread. We are hoping to break the Guinness World Record for the most clothes donated or recycled. The Give a Thread Campaign will promote sustainability and community engagement. In addition to involving the Pitt community (including our regional campuses), we are partnering with Pittsburgh groups like the Pittsburgh Zoo, the Mayor's Office, GoodWill, Dress for Success, and refugee homes.

The Student Office of Sustainability will be hosting the kick-off to the event on December 5th from 11:00AM - 3:00PM in the Assembly Room. The Kick Off Event will have a variety of food, informational tables with our partners, and we will be collecting clothing articles throughout the event. Students will gain access to the event if they bring an article of clothing to donate. Students who bring at least three articles of clothing will be able to enter into a raffle.

We need volunteers for the kickoff event to collect and organize the clothes collected. All volunteers will receive pizza and volunteer hours. We are asking each volunteer to commit to at least 30 minutes of service.

Please email me at if you are interested in volunteering at the event.
