The Heimaten Mosaic project invites people with diverse histories, identities, and paths to reimagine what Heimat can mean in Berlin. Rather than a fixed idea, Heimat emerges here as a living mosaic of personal stories and experiences that continue to shape and enrich the city. It is understood as something carried from the past, lived in the present, and dreamed into the future. To reflect these many layers, the project unfolds in three interconnected stages.
In this workshop we will learn the basics of zine making. Zines are selfmade and self-published magazines that come in all shapes and sizes and can be created with simple means. The great thing about zine making is that we can give free rein to our creativity. The workshop's theme is based on the festival's theme: we will explore the topics of loss, rediscovery, and settlement through the creative expression of zine making. Participants are welcome to bring stories, comics, drawings, poetry, photos, etc.
