GSA Research Award Application
The Graduate Student Association is pleased to provide funding for graduate students at Hunter college who are engaged or involved with research. GSA research award helps defer the cost of expenses toward research, conference, or travel in regards to field work or data collection. GSA seeks to support deserving graduate students who are engaged with research in their field of study. This award is to aid in helping students achieve their research and academic goals by deferring costs associated with research.
Please read the sections below for eligibility and guidelines.

Expenses covering supplies used towards research. That is, awarded funds may be used to support necessary and rational costs for collection of pilot research data or for proposal development:
• Field work research supplies
• Equipment for research only
• Travel expenses for field research
• Laboratory expenses (i.e. Sample analysis, Data collection)

Funds will not be allocated if students receive class credit for travel or field work expenses. Clothes, backpacks and other miscellaneous items unrelated to research do not constitute as equipment for research.

• Applicants must have an approved thesis or research project confirmed by their MA advisor/professor
• Awards are for all MA students enrolled in a program at Hunter College conducting research that advances their
academic abilities and careers.
• Regardless of citizenship or immigration status, ALL Hunter students paying student activity fees have equal access
to this award.
• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Students from an underrepresented background are strongly encouraged to apply

• Research Proposal 1000 words maximum. If maximum word limit is exceeded applicants will not be considered.

This is a competitive application process and funding is limited to 5 awardees in the fall and 5 awardees in the spring semester. Awarded students will receive up to $750 dollars each for research expenses.
