A 68-year-old man with a history of unexplained anemia came to his physician's office for further investigation. He noted having increased fatigue and night sweats. A complete blood count (CBC) was performed and showed a worsening progressive anemia. The patient had a bone marrow biopsy performed but the evaluation was limited to morphological study only.
*Note: Insufficient marrow aspirate was obtained for flow cytometry and cytogenetic studies.
