MPCSD Antiracism Book Clubs
As part of MPCSD's journey towards antiracism, we are offering several book clubs for parents to join the conversation. In January, the MPCSD Speaker Series will dedicate three events to this topic in the mini-series "Race, Prejudice & Policy: A Conversation on Segregation and its Legacy on Education around Menlo Park." To complement this series, we also invite any interested community member regardless of their affiliation to the schools to join a book club of their choice. For more information about the mini-series, visit
www.mpcsdspeakerseries.com
.
Book Club participants will read (listen) to the entire book (podcast) on their own in December and January and then voluntarily meet 2 or 3 times in January-March to discuss the book. Book Clubs will be co-facilitated by a MPCSD staff member and a volunteer parent. These clubs are meant to engage and invigorate in a safe space that helps us define and experience what it means to be antiracist.
Whether you attend the Speaker Series events or not, you are welcome to pick a book you'd like to explore and join a club! We are all learning and leaning in together. Just bring your curiosity and open mind and dive in with us. Please complete this quick survey below so we can provide you additional information.
