79ª WHA Side Event "The Central Role of Social Participation and Multilateral Cooperation in Advancing Health Sovereignty"

Thank you for your interest in the side event!

The event, hosted by Brazil with the support of Tunisia, Norway, Slovenia, France, Thailand, UHC2030, and CSEM, will be held on the margins of the 79th World Health Assembly. It aims to foster dialogue among governments, civil society, and international organizations on the role of participatory governance in strengthening health systems and advancing health sovereignty.

Building on Resolution WHA77.2 on social participation for universal health coverage, the event will explore how inclusive and institutionalized participation mechanisms contribute to more equitable, responsive, and resilient health systems.

The event will take place at the Domaine de la Pastorale, Rte de Ferney 106, Geneva, on the 19th of May 2026, at 7.30-9.00.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!
