Climate Change/Mississippi Project Application
This two-semester project (Spring 2020/Fall2020) will consist of an in-depth exploration and reporting on myriad topics associated with continued climate changes taking place and the day-to-day socioeconomic and cultural effects, primarily in the University’s service area. The result will be a factual online archive and easy-to-use public resource. Six hours credit (if enrolled both semesters).

Students will be selected for the project based on interest in the topic, experience and skills relevant to researching and reporting results in narrative, graphic and visual media. Students must be willing to travel, work outside normal course requirements.

If you wish to learn more before applying, please talk with the project’s faculty leaders, Associate Professor Charles Mitchell (cdmitch1@olemiss.edu) or Instructional Assistant Professor John Baker (jabaker1@olemiss.edu).

If you are excited about this project and willing to commit, please fill out this application by Oct. 31. We will confirm receipt and select students by Thanksgiving break. Students who confirm their interest will be administratively enrolled in JOUR 361 – Journalism Explorations for the Spring 2020 term.
