September 14 Meeting of the Sustainability Speaker Series, featuring Theresa Lehman, Director of Sustainability Services, Miron Construction

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 14th, for Theresa Lehman, Director of Sustainability Services at Miron Construction.

We're expanding our focus this semester to feature dynamic speakers from leading midwestern companies that have made a visible commitment to sustainability. In a recent survey of WI businesses, we heard that 71% of large businesses have incorporated sustainability into board room and senior management discussions. This speaker series will allow us to hear what is being shared in those discussions.

Though students are the intended audience, we want to make these presentations available to the general public. Each presentation will continue to be a community forum, and anyone may attend. As we start our fourth year, we hope you will consider joining us.

Theresa will talk about the growing interest in green construction and design. Miron has been the lead contractor on a number of Madison projects that have become notable green buildings and they play a prominent role in building green schools. They not only survived one of the toughest economic climates for builders, they prospered, mostly because of their focus on green building.

Please join us to hear Theresa Lehman on Friday, September 14th at noon. We will meet in room 5120 of Grainger (975 University Ave in Madison).

Registration (see below) is requested so that I can make sure you get information about upcoming sessions. The Friday session will conclude no later than 1:15.

Theresa is the first speaker for the fall series.
