About the Hosts
About Amber:
Amber Coleman-Mortley’s passions are focused on how people can show up as their whole selves in all spaces - work, school, and home. She holds a B.A. in African American Studies from Oberlin College and an M.A. from American University in Media Entrepreneurship. A decorated three-sport varsity collegiate athlete, Amber continued her athletic passion as a P.E./Health teacher and varsity head coach for nine years. She’s worked in the civic education space to support students and educators in their quest for more informed democratic participation. Amber has been featured in the LA Times, NY Times, The Washington Post, Smithsonian Magazine, and a variety of other broadcast, podcast, and online media outlets.

About the kids:
The Mortley Girls work with their mother to write and produce the Let’s K12 Better podcast where they discuss a variety of topics such as race, civics, technology, education, and family wellness. They have been featured in the NY Times, LA Times, and Smithsonian Magazine. Individually, they’ve joined panels to discuss race, video games, wellness, and other topics important to young people.
