Thank you for applying to adopt a dachshund!

To foster for DREAM, please use our Foster Application Form.

This application is the first step in our adoption process, which has several stages:

1.  Apply (you THOROUGHLY complete this application.)
2.  Review of app and Matching (we analyze your application to see if it's a fit for the dog you have requested, or for another of our DREAM dogs.)
3.  Two-way Dialogue (you ask us questions, and we ask you questions.) You can meet the dog if it's being
     fostered near you. During this stage, we'll talk about all the dogs that may be a match.
4.  Reference Checks (we contact your veterinarian and personal references.)
5.  Home Check (we come to your home to confirm that it's appropriate for the dogs we've discussed.)

Keep in mind, our organization is run completely by volunteers, so the process sometimes doesn't move quickly. We're doing the best that we can, with full-time jobs and life's demands. Most of us foster dogs, work with shelters, and perform reference and home checks. It's a lot of work and we do it because we love the dachshund breed, not because we are paid (we aren't...except in kisses).
Please be patient with us if we don't move as quickly as you would like.

Adopting any dog is a commitment, especially a rescue dog.  This application is intentionally designed to get to know you better, and we look forward to that.  Help us to help you.  Please fill this out as thoroughly as possible.
