Requirements for 1-1 Tutor Program:
- Plan to live in the United States for more than 5 years
- Be 18 years or older
- Must live or work in one of the 21 communities we serve (http://www.englishatlarge.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/EAL-Service-Area-Map.pdf)
- Not be currently enrolled in high school or college classes
- Not have a degree from a US college or university
- Meet requirements for Basic to Intermediate English Level (based on English test given by English At Large )
- Agree to meet regularly with their tutor and agree to all program requirements

Program Requirement Information
The English At Large Tutoring program matches English Language Learners with Volunteer Tutors for no longer than 100 hours or 1 year, whichever comes first. The program is free. Volunteer tutors are community members trained by English At Large and are not paid. To be in our tutoring program, volunteers must attend a 12-hour training and commit to at least 50 hours of tutoring. English At Large expects all learners in our tutoring program to regularly attend tutoring sessions.

To enroll in the English At Large Tutoring Program, Learners must agree to all Program Requirements:
1. Commit at least 2 hours (weekly) to tutoring (scheduled with your tutor)
2. Commit at least 2 more hours (weekly) to practice English and complete homework the tutor assigns.
3. Arrive on time to tutoring meetings
4. Take English tests when I start and end tutoring
Your spot in our tutoring program may be given to someone on the waiting list:
1. If you are late 3 times to your meetings
2. If you miss a meeting and do not contact your tutor or English At Large
3. If you are unable to meet with your tutor for more than 1 month
