Culture Days Expression of Interest Deadline to apply: July 28, 2018
Culture Days takes place September 28-30, 2018 and SaskCulture is offering one community in the south east district the opportunity to to undertake a culture days activity and hire a local artist or cultural worker (Animateur).

What will the Animateur do?
The Animateur, an artist or cultural worker, works with community organizers to identify and deliver an interactive cultural activity that would engage a range of community residents with a goal of building new audiences for the cultural activity. In the past, Culture Days Animateurs have engaged people in painting parties, drum-making, interactive dance, theatre workshops, clay workshops, meme-making, photo art, video journals, and more. The Animateur will present one or more workshops, or various sessions, over the course of the Culture Days weekend, that are free and open to the public.

Why is this an opportunity?
SaskCulture wants to encourage communities to engage residents in cultural activity, so it will pay an honorarium of $1,000* (inclusive of all costs) to a Saskatchewan artist or cultural worker to deliver an interactive, free, hands-on, interactive cultural activity with a goal of building new audiences in one community per District. SaskCulture would also take the opportunity to connect in person with community organizers to help them connect to cultural funding opportunities into the future.
